Join Support Groups

Support
Preserving the mental health of the disabled, elderly, and caregiver is vital. I believe into join a support can be very positive for everyone, because you can open up a great opportunity to find helpful tips from others in similar ions as well as moral support.

Otherwise, my advertisement for those who cannot leave home for more than a few hours, try to arrange restorative activities with friends or your family members, within the home – such as a weekly bridge , musical ensemble, or a knitting, quilting, or book group rather than vegetating in front of the television set.

What about the Internet! There are hundreds of support groups like yahoo, msn, etc. In those groups you can find chats, forums, meetings, etc. The key point is to keep your mind interacting, positively.

Hello Madeline

Support groups are an excellent way to talk to other people in similar situations as yourself. Good advice,

Tracy

Madeleine,

Looooooovvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeellllllllllly pic. (Damn near nearly forgot to read the post. *

Me? I'm on a carer's pension. And yep, it can be a bit demanding at times ... My mum? She's almost 80. Last night? Absolute disaster. She couldn't find her hot water bottle. (and to my mum? there are two things that are sacrosanct in life: (1) drowning in cups of tea and (2) having a hot water bottle on her tummy on a 40 degree C day). Still can't find the damn thing... She won't admit to eating it either ... Me? I'll look in the freezer ... She's been know to put it in there before. * But the elderly? They're always prepared for these type of national disasters (that put Thredbo to shame?)* She just opens a drawer, and pulls out one of her three spare water bottles. * But where that other one is? No bloody idea. I still reckon she ate it ...

David ...

David:

You had me laughing because I truly treasure my memories when I was with my grandparents...about their special ways!
Keep in touch,

Madeline
